Mercedes-AMG made a big splash last week at the Frankfurt auto show, and also on this week’s viral video chart.
A two-minute video from Mercedes’ performance subbrand features the Project One, a concept shown in Frankfurt that will join the lofty ranks of the multi-million dollar halo car, once it reaches the market.
In the clip, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton walks past previous and current AMG models. He makes his way through a research lab before putting on his racing suit and driving away in his F1 race car, which eventually morphs into the Project One concept.
The 1,000 hp two-seater concept features a 1.6-liter V-6 hybrid gasoline engine mounted ahead of the rear axle, just like the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 racing car that Hamilton pilots in real life.
The video garnered 7,925,770 views, according to the rankings from Visible Measures. Audi and Hyundai also had new videos join the ranking this week.
